The Roswell Incident!

An overwhelming 95% of Americans know about UFOs, with 57% believing in their existence. Former US Presidents Carter and Reagan claimed to have seen one. Many in the U.S., including “UFOlogists,” suspect the government, particularly the CIA, of concealing UFO information, a belief prevalent since the late 1940s. (See Note 1)

Supposed “baloon” junk left over from “crash sight”

In 1947, near Roswell, New Mexico, an unidentified object crashed, sparking widespread speculation and “conspiracy theories” (wink wink). While initial reports suggested it was a “flying disc,” the U.S. military stated it was a weather balloon. However, due to the military’s quick retrieval of the debris and the secrecy that followed, many believed it was the crash of an extraterrestrial spacecraft. Over the years, this event has become a significant part of UFO lore, leading to numerous investigations, both official and unofficial. The debate over what truly happened continues to this day.
