The “Roswell Incident” Information: refers to claims that an extraterrestrial spacecraft and aliens were discovered near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 and that the event was hidden from the public. Despite extensive research, the National Archives couldn’t find any documents related to this event in the Project BLUE BOOK records.
In 1994, after requests by Congressman Steven H. Schiff, the General Accounting Office (GAO) began an audit to find all records about the incident and ensure they were correctly managed. In response, the Air Force undertook a detailed study, which included searching various records and interviewing potential witnesses. The study concluded in 1995, and its findings were published as “The Roswell Report: Fact vs. Fiction in the New Mexico Desert.”
This report, available in U.S. Government Depository Libraries, stated that the Air Force found no evidence suggesting the Roswell Incident was related to UFOs or that there was a government cover-up. Instead, the materials found near Roswell were consistent with a balloon device used in a classified project at the time.
There were no indications of recovered alien bodies or extraterrestrial materials. All documents regarding this incident have since been declassified and are publicly accessible.
